Curious To Know

This is very odd I’ve never witness this before

A medieval archway displayed without a door.

Looking through the passageway I see the end in sight

I’m going through, I won’t be stopped, not without a fight.

Inside the arch is beautiful and designed with such grace

It has a way of reminding you of a popular fictional place.

Halfway through the passage stands an on duty guard

It’s okay though, he’s only there as certain parts are barred.

He stands tall in his shiny boots and with his sword in hand

Always at the ready to defend the queens land.

I crept up behind him to see what he would do

He never flinched nor turned around, did he even have a clue?

I left the scene and carried on through to the other side

A large space with gravelled floor many acres wide.

Field Marshal Wolseley sits proudly upon his horse

A statue of honour placed on a plinth, his memory truly enforced.

And on his left another man, Field Marshal Roberts

A top commander, but well known for his self promotional efforts.

Behold a dragon carrying a canon I’m sure in battle he’d prevail

He’s sits ready and prepared for war with two dogs caught in his tail.

Rain clouds gather in the sky above casting an eerie dark shade

A legendary building of royal proportions known as the Horse Guards Parade.
